Reinhard Bütikofer

Reinhard Bütikofer is a former German politician who served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2009 until his retirement from politics in 2024. A member of the Alliance 90/The Greens, he played a significant role in both German and European politics as co-chair of the German Green Party (2002-2008) and the European Green Party (2012-2019). As an MEP, he focused on industrial policy, international relations, and defense, and chaired the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with China.
